- Hide the decisive information until the final word.
- Give the speaker a confident but obviously flawed point of view.

Is every funny six-word story a joke?
No. A funny story may create comedy through situation or voice. A joke normally arranges its words toward a recognizable comic payoff.
Do six-word jokes need punchlines?
They need a turn, but it can be dry, absurd, visual or character-based rather than a traditional one-line punchline.
Can punctuation create the comic timing?
Yes. A full stop, colon or dash can create the pause between setup and turn, but the wording still has to carry the joke.
